Well I have been on the road for a while and I was instructed when I got home I was to take my wife fishing. Who am I to complain. We set out around 1:00 for a day of sunshine and boat traffic. I managed to stay away from most of the traffic by hitting shallow water areas.
We had caught eight fish over shell and mud by about 5:00 p.m. (all too small for the fry tonight) when my phone rang and my father-in-law was in route to the ramp. So we headed in and scooped him up. We headed further out into the bay and drifted around unitl dark. We caught lots of undersized fish, but manage a few fish to eat tonight. 2- reds to 25"s, 2- trout to 18"s, and a 20" flounder.
All fish were over a mud to shell transition. Caught on gulp 5" shad, swimming mullet, and TTF red killers.
I will be back at it tomorrow, got to let the sun burn cool off for a day.I will post some pics when I clean them in a few.
Highlight of the day - Having a Jackwagon come within 12 ft of my bow and cut my wife off from fishing. Started to step on his boat and give him a piece of my mind, but it is not worth it. He got a taste of salwater spray when I headed in. Turns out a john boat with a 30hp tiller can't out run a 175hp vmax. Idiots........
Take care,
DB
