  • Chocolate St. Patrick's day trip

Had to try out the new steering cable on the boat. Launched from Lute's and went toward 2004 bridge. Didn't make it far. Fish finder showing large schools of fish in 7ft range. Located various schools of redfish in the bayou. Caught numerious reds from 19 to a couple over 30 but lines broke at boat. Found reds all way up to first hopper area, water was a lot saltier even after rain. Came home with 2 nice reds around 22 inches. Even hooked a monster flounder that did the usuall fight to boat get net spit hook at you and then slowly sink off to wild blue yonder. Live shrimp was preferred bait, wouldn't even strike a lure. While cleaning the reds noticed empty bellies with a few barnacles or small clams in their stomach. Sorrry no pics, computer crashed and in the shop. Will have some next time.
