I decided to make a last minute run and my neighbor reminded me I had told him I would take him last week. So, he grabed his gear and we met new member stacyb (new to site - not new to fishing with me) down at the ramp (2004). We drifted three different spots without a bite and finally found some small rat reds, a few trout, and a few flounder on our fourth drift. We kept a few fish for an upcoming dinner. Trout to 19" and flounder to 20.5"s.
The water really started to clear up with the hard incoming tide, well out along long reef anyways. You could not see 2" in the water at the boat ramp when we got in. Fish caught on various lures, but most fell to the smelly gulps fished in 2-3ft of water over scattered shell. We probably caught 30 fish as a boat, but most were undersized. Not much for a report. Probably because "There Are No Fish In Chocolate".
I will be back at it this weekend if I get a chance. I will let stacyb post his pic of the big flounder. I will upload some pics of the for keepers tomorrow when I clean them.
