Picked up my Brother-in- law this morning in Santa Fe and headed to Chocolate to get on some fish. We got in the water around 9:00 and he was obligated to pick up his grandson from school so we had a four hour window to get on them. Ran out to the bay and drifted a few spots off the channel, nothing. Ran up the bayou past Lutes and I picked up a 24" red and released and he caught a nice 22" trout at what he called the" bubble curtain" for those of you that know that spot. Just finished frying up the trout and yum. fed me, the girlfriend, and the old neighbor lady we keep an eye on. No serious bite but a couple quality fish.

the water and weather was perfect. water was a little stained (off color green). problem was not a wisp of wind. Almost dead calm. By the middle of the day up the bayou we had that perfect little chop on the water. Probabl
y would have been better this evening with a little tidal movement but I didn't find the numbers of fish I been hearing about. Wrong spot, right time, right spot, wrong time. Oh well.
