  • Kiddo's first fish

Well the wife and I decided to take the little one out yesterday and let him use his new pole that Santa brought him. We were greeted with warm temps and lots and lots of boats. It was like a washing machine in the bayou. With all of the boat traffic it was hard to locate any fish.

I did not want to head out into the bay with him, but that is where I had to go to get away from the crowd, so I thought. The water calmed down and was like glass for a while and it turned out to be a very nice day.

Anyways, we fished on the edge of the ICW along with many other boaters, but he managed his first fish and a few others. It was a 14 7/8 in speck, and if it would have been 15" I would have mounted it for him. Yep, you heard me right mounted it. I was on cloud 9 watching him reel in his first fish. He woke up this morning wanting to go again.

BEST day I ever had on the water.....

I will be fishing different water until the traffic calms down. See you all back out there soon. I hope..

    HAPPY NEW YEAR.
