We decided to hit the water this morning and brave the wind and rain. We (3) of us started out from the bridge at daylight and headed out to the bay. The birds were working all over the ICW, more birds than I have seen out there in a long time. We were catching trout under them in the middle of the channel.
We didn't get past the geotube all day until we called it quits, soaked and wind blown at 2:30. I decided not to go past it, because of the black rolling clouds all around us. We used every artificial in the box and caught trout on almost all of them. We fished in 2-3 ft of water and caught most of out fish on corky (at least the bigger ones).
The fishing was def on today, but there was not much boat traffic on the water. We kept (21) trout up to 22"s and (1) red - 23"'s and (1) flounder - 15"s and "yes" the red and flounder were mine to complete yet another slam this year - hell ya! There was a lot of undersized (dinks) caught today, lots and lots.
Got enough fish in the freezer for winter. Now I am going to start targeting trophy trout.
Take care...
