Well this is what happended, these hooks are from a Johnson Sprite Spoon 1/2 oz, caught a red, went to reach for the leader along side the boat, rod in other hand, fish got off, spoon flew in hand. Cut the hooks with wire pliers, tried the old fishing line trick, didn't work. I have had a top water in the head before, but this actually did hurt, than god it was about 4-5 that afternoon, and had already had a few blue cans by then.

Nothing like a hook in the hand to ruin your day. Hope it heals up and feels better quick. Smart move heading to the doctor. A good wound like that can get nasty.

Try the Doc in a Box places before an ER hospital-the dang ER's can charge about $1000+ to pull a hook, while a "Doc in the Box" charges about $150-250.

I've been lucky-had happen twice (so far)-the trout hanging off the jumpin minnow that was imbedded in my "Wave" finger (middle one) was shaking to all heck while hanging off bottom hook hurt bad and once in Mexico at Lake Guerrero-2 prongs of a treble during a t-storm so had to cross lake while hanging onto lure, then cut hooks and pushed em thru-almost lost one in my tummy love handle-a good pinch popped it out-they don't come out by pulling hard-tried it and only got a nice large bruise. Get a tetanus shot!!
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. guys... you need to get with me to show you how to pull these out .....without going to the ER ....ER???

I have had to pull hooks out of myself twice ....one of those times, all 3 barbs of a treble ss jr went into my leg .... I dont know how but ALL 3,, but they all went in ..... quick pull, and lots of crown to ease the pain .... The longer the hook stays in you the more damage it causes ... the quicker you get it out the faster you will heal, and less tissue damage ...

Most of the time I take 20 -30 lb test, wrap it around my wrist and get a hold of the hook and count to 3, and BAM yank it out !!!
The trick is, hold the hook down at the hook eye, it creaets an angle on the exit ....

haah, tried that! tied braid to it and had a guy yank as hard as he could... "twice" both times it yanked my skin out about 8" and made me say a few choice words... lol in the doc office they said it went through all layeys of my skin they ended up having to cut it out... ( just a bad spot for a hook to get stuck )
