  • Tough Fishing Lately

It's been reeeel hit & miss fishing lately. Saturday morning I had a good trout bite over shell/mud on Corky Devils but since then it's been one or two here and one there and a lot of "nobody home"!
We all laugh and say it's the full moon or the classic "a transitional period", and there's some truth to both of those, but where do the trout go?
I'm sure the 10 degree water temperature swings each week is part of the mystery too.

I talked to Lloyd Pepper the other day and he said all the fish are in Trinity and East Bays right now. He was kidding but I think he may be half right.

The little bastages are out there, in hiding. When we aren't catching them, I am convinced that they have full stomachs and are just watching us and laughing.

I have often wondered what it would look like if the water was invisible and we could see all the fish and critters. I bet it would be eye opening to say the least! (is that a weird thought?)

I think the trout are staging right now between the flats & their winter holes, hanging close to the bottom until this weekend which will probably scatter them again.
      Today is a new day!!

Your on the money but this weekend is going to push them deep if this front hang's around.IMO the pressure has a lot to do with thing's and it's not the fishin pressure!
