Wacked 'em in East Sunday morning. Pretty much glass until about 10am. We tried West sat. aft., but it was rough and could not find a fish. My brother from Colorado
caught a 40" red in a marsh drain on Fri. eve. Caught a bunch of small trout in the same bayou before the big one hit. He was fishing with 6lb. text on an ultra light spinning reel.
The fish almost spooled him 3 times. I was running the troll motor. We chased him for 30 min. before we landed him about 30 min. after the sun went down. What a kick for him.
His P/B fish ever and I was there to see it. What a kick!!!!!!! I grabbed him by the tail, but he was too slimy and heavy to lift into the boat and I did not have a gaff. My brother said "net him", but my net wouldn't even hold his head. I told him I had to grab him by the tail and we finally got him in the boat, but it took two of us.
I wish I could find them closer to home, but as long as we find them, I guess that is what counts!
I LOVE this time of year!!!
