11-06-10 Rat Red Round-Up!
Well the title is misleading but that's what we caught mostly at the first spot.The water temp was between 55-59 depending who you ask.When the sun broke we saw working birds in the middle of the bay so we made a beeline for the bird's.When we got there they flew the coup so we started working the dirty water(a majoroutgoing tide)Nada.Of to a obscure shoreline and we found the bait being worked hard!we had gotten ourselves into a mess of rat reds with a few dink trout thrown in.We worked that until some weekend warrior decided to buzz the action
.So we went to our other spot's and caught a few nice trout up to maybe 4lb or more i was more worried about getting her back into the water after some photo op's.Then Ibtsoom hooked up with a keeper.We saw plenty of slot red's taking mud bath's and dining on shrimp at the water's edge....no taker red's.I had a great time fishin the morning.That fat trout was 20inches.
