  • Midday walk in wade 10/27

Made a quick wade this morning/afternoon with Ron Johnson.
We jumped in about 11:00 to hit the minor at noon and Ron had 4 trout on the stringer before I finally hooked up. I took off the top and put on a plastic and caught a few before Ron had to leave to go to work. I caught a few more and then put the top back on determined(or stubborn) to catch something on top. I didn't get a single blow up and walked out about 3:00.
I think Ron ended up with 7 trout and 1 red and I ended up with 4 trout and 1 red. We also caught a bunch of undersize reds and trout.
Great day to be out, but I was expecting a good pre-front bite that didn't happen.

Thanks for the report !! Yes, you are stubborn about the tops...they don't produce as well as plastics often . But , as a friend said , he'd rather catch one on top than 5 on plastic .

            Nice going Ron and Chip.

good job. we got out at noon and drifted for a couple of hours and kept four trout and a red. we averaged one fish per drift, i was expecting a heavier bite. fat trout though.
