Went fishing with my friends this morning. We had a a light N or NNE wind early with the regular above normal tide.
They went one way down the shoreline and I went the other. First cast I had a blow up and strung a small trout. The grass was full of little trout so I moved on. I wasn't catching anything for a long time but finally had a 19" red hit the spook jr.
I waded down to a gut with grass on the side and switched to a jig. I strung a little bigger trout and released a couple more iffy reds. I finally caught a legal red and on almost the next cast I had a hit as the plastic hit the water. At first I thought it was a good trout, then I got it closer and thought it was a stingray. It was a 4.5# flatty!
It was a slow morning over all, but I did catch a variety including a big
hardhead and a Sheephead .
