Thursday , I launched at Fatboys around 8 AM with a W and S wind factor to 15 MPH . I headed to Campbell's where the water was not so great but had some slicks . I drifted and then anchored at this point and caught a too small flounder , sheephead and such.

I then went to Mosquito Island where the water was great and slicks were popping very close to shore , probably flounder . The water level was very high and I had to anchor close to the dike , but most of the slicks were close in. I waded the bay side of the reef where the activity seemed to be . I didn't do much good until later .

I was to call IMHAMMER around 1 PM to pick him up at FAT BOYS . As I was wading back to the boat I found myself in a slick and the trout had turned on. I was hooking up almost everycast . I had 4 trout on and 4 trout airborne to throw the hook .... ARGH !! I kept thinking " gotta call Chip , gotta call Chip " . Chip had to wait , sorry big fellow . Finally , I strung one trout before they moved on and I linked up with Chip at 2 PM.

We fished a south shore cove . He stalked around near the grass for reds . He landed some rat reds and a nice keeper trout and I a keeper trout right off the bat . He , of course ,was throwing a big top water . We thought we were really going to get into them , but , we didn't catch much there after.

We went to the north shore and at the first stop at a reef point Chip had a nice slot red on , he wanted one for supper . I learned he doesn't like fish that much , but , likes reds on the half shell . Unfortunately , the beast broke his line and he let out a yelp . We moved on as the seagrass was so thick and went to another location with less grass . There I picked up various fish and no keepers . As I moved the boat to him I heard another frustrated yell ... yep , had a nice red get off the topwater . We got back after dark .

Chip looked pretty good after 6 hours of fishing . I , on the other hand , looked like I had my feet chained to a pickup truck and drug face down for a mile on a gravel road . Besides , the picture makes look fat . The boat looks good though !!

              END

On Friday I launched at Fatboys again around 10 AM . I was still too worn out from the day before to get up early . I'm old . I tried Campbell's again . I got out and waded , but , the water was a little rough but clear enough . I went to Mosquito Island hoping for a repeat try at those trout . Slicks were around , but , deeper . I waded and drifted without a hookup . Honestly , I was so tired I felt sick . That wasn't a fun day . I headed in early for me . Sunset at Fatboy's .

Thanks for taking me out Henry. I had a great time even though we didn't catch many keepers. You looked like you were beat when we got back to the ramp.

I saw your truck Henry, but I was on the other side of the causeway and off the water by 2pm. Glad that you got out there and caught a few. Thursday was almost all dinks and rats for me and my party. Friday we caught a few decent reds and didn't even mess with the trout.

What happened? Did your sunblock get stolen?? Nice report!

Good report Henry. I had similar luck today. Found some good water in West Bay but couldn't get them to commit with the exception of a couple, one of which has a souvenir, my SS Jr.........
