I got off work yesterday at 530 and called Capt. Clint on my way home to see what he was doing. In conversation, it came up that I wasnt working on the jet ski lift tonight and I was thinking of going for a quick trip out in the bay. As soon as I mentioned it, he said.. I will be over in 15 minutes lol.
We got on the boat and headed out to one of our favorite spots. We get there and we start pushing reds all over the place. We slow down, get to the main spot and put the trolling motor out. Within 2 cast, clint hooks up with a nice red, then I do, then he does etc etc.
This first spot netted 6 reds with 5 of them being slot fish. We move on to the next spot as were just kinda out to try a few new things etc.
Once we got to the next spot, we were greeted with a few fish running a shoreline. We catch a few of them and continue on down the shoreline. right when we decide that there isnt that much here, two schools pop up on down the shore. So we sit here and wait on them and as soon as they are close enogh. BAAAAAAAAM we slam some more.
They were rather spooky to say the least, but still managed to pull a few fish out of each.
Finally, we decide to try another shoreline before we run out of daylight. We get on that shore and pull one good slot red and then we see a HUGE school coming down the shore... waiting and waiting and waiting.. Soon enough, Clint hooks a good solid 7#er and I keep waiting on the school. At some point, they went down and I didnt get a chance at them. Finally, they pop up some 200yards down the shore. At this point, were running out of daylight so we head on to the house.
Final total was about 15 slots, 1 rat and 2 trout.. not bad for 2 hours fishing.
All fish released to fight another day.
