Fished from sun up to near sundown yesterday with a break for rainstorms to pass. Caught some decent trout and reds early on tops. Nothing big but had a little fun. Dpop came down in the mid afternoon and we took off to look for some better reds. We didn't find anything that was huge, caught 6 up to about 6.5 pounds. Overall the day wasn't bad with consistent cloud cover, a few passing showers and some mid day heavy rain. There were plenty of topwater blow ups, matter of fact, that's all they would take in the morning. Pop had one about 6pm that we thought would have been oversize, she absolutely crushed a she dog. Blow up was ENORMOUS!!! Turned out to be about 24.
Early part of the day was spent on or near some nice grass flats, and the trout were there and shallow, like 1 foot at times. There were definitely some better reds up shallow this week. In the gaps between clouds, I saw several cruising while I was on the platform.
I attached a pic of DPop and the fish that thought she was a giant.
