  • Sunday 8-16 report

Fished the south shoreline right at daylight with a friend. Top water bite was fairly good. Threw a ss jr the whole time. Caught 4 solid trout to 21" and one very nice 27 3/4" red. Caught some new throw backs, but had a constant blow ups all morning until about 8:45. Left there and went to the north shoreline. Picked up some smaller reds and then saw a bunch of nervous bait on the shore. Trilled over and found some reds working schools of mullet onto an oyster bed. Picked up one 23" red. Moved back out to deeper water and caught a 20" trout. Called it a day after it slowed. Way too hot out there especially when the wind went completly slack. No pics today since I was being a conservationist today and threw everything back today. Prolly why we did halfway decent. So total 5 trout 2 reds and a bunch of throw backs.

Way to go Joe. You are still squeezing a good bite out of the topwater even in this heat!
If we don't leave any, there won't be any.

Thanks, the spot I fished on the S. Shoreline has been pretty decent all summer. Always end up with something, but some days are definately much better than others.
