Sunday Morning Topwater 8/15

We were on the spot and in the water before dawn. Right before the sun hit the horizon my fishing partner had fish of the day at 24" or so.
I had gone the opposite direction about 50 yards and had several early too. The mullet were thick and came in waves sort of. I ended up with seven again with half 20"-22" all on SS jr.s.
A Transport/Gulfcoast? came in and I waved 'em over but I guess they didn't see me. Shortly after I went and got the boat and left it to them.

I went out to the reef this morning in my Gulfcoast and some crazy old guy was screaming and shooting the finger at me when I tried to ease up to the reef. So we left.

The bait was thick enough to walk on this morning. Water a little sandy. But dam could a brother get some wind, HOT. Threw an old school lure this morning, went with a 22 year old broken back. All the paint is gone so it is just kind of pearly white. I shaved the bill so it will only run 6" under the surface. First trout got all 6 hooks in her, I guess she wanted it bad. Not many boats out today, that was nice. I haven't fished West in awhile(fishing down south), and was shocked to see what they did to Jumbile. WTF they just dumped a **** load of sand right on top my favorite spot, thanks corp guys.

I finally got back into Jumbile last weekend. I'm sure it will be good in the long term, but it definitely changed the dynamics back there.
