Paddled out of jumbile at sunset. Threw the fly rod at a few tailing reds until it was too dark with no luck. Then paddled out to "Kenny's Reef", I figured he would be asleep. Drift by it in the kayak a few times with topwater, no blow-ups. Swithched to a gold spoon and landed 2 nice reds over 25 inches. One last drift and hooked up with something large that almost spooled me and then broke off. Called it a night since whatever it was towed me half way back to jamaica beach. On the way back something large bumped the kayak, thrashed, then swam off. A little un-nerving after a thermous of coffee. There was also quite a bit of that phosphorecent sstuff in the water. One of the reds "lit up" when I landed him. Very nice night on the water, back home by midnight. Again, lots of needlefish in the water.
