I liked to Thank Moe for the invite and paying the fee's to the Sat's Tourney. Our plans was left to me so the pressure was on and I really wanted us to find the fishes for us, But!
Lanuched out of Louies, figured Fatboys would be a Zoo being it was the wkend and with some good weather. Just a heads up, Louies parking lot/roads are a total wreck.. Mud and standing water from the past rains, it was nasty. Was quite surprised the Skitters didn't carry us off but not that bad, only a few landed.
Thru the RR bridge by 0600, luckily the tides had gone down and was able to pass through. My thoughts were to find the Rubber Lips 1st, and have always most of the time landed a few @ the Big Island in Jones. Moe was tossing a Bone Spook and I a new Pink Skitterwalk. Several throws a strike on my Sketter, Pencil trout if that Big. Made several more drifts around that area, Nada. Jones Lake must have some current for any type of catching, which we all found out yesterday there was very little movement at all. Figured my old buddy Kevin was out running the boat so called him. Like he reported, he was still in bed. My main question was how to get out of Jones to Fatboys so I could round about to Virginia Point/Cambells/Sand Island. He directed me fine but I varried and whacked a small reef, mostly mixed with mud.. Thank Gosh, but had to bail to get her off the mud. Ole Moe is close to 300lbs I'm guessing, so I'm blaming him... lol.
Long hot story for a couple bites and no fish to cool off in the box. We both were some Sad Sacks and puzzled on the No Fish. Zillions of Pods of Bait and nuth'n.. Actually the water at Cambells and Sand Island looked good but nothing. Made one last ditch in Offats and met Kevin to help me make our way back to Louies, which I did without any hick-ups.
Moe and I both are older guys and the heat whipped or butts, all we wanted to do was head home and cool off. I have a Pool and as soon as my Truck door closed I was cannon Ball'n to cool off, funny thing was the bay water was cooler than me Pool. Sorry for the no show at the weigh in but us Old Guys were wanting to get home, next time as they say.
Congrats to all,
wd
