No, I did not sink my boat but she sure ran like a champ today. As for the fishing goes well that is why it is called fishing.
Woke up around 4 am by the cat wanting some freash food and thought today is going to be a good day to sleep in. I been putting in some long hours since I got my old boss back. Nice to have a good boss to work with.
Phone rings around 8am, its WD! Asking where I am at on the water....Hell I am in bed! He and Moe were in a tournament so I told him give me an hour and I will see you out there. No rest for Kevin, lol!!! Bad habbits never die, go fishing....
Off I go out past the causway and into the upper bay area. The water was emerald green and flat as can be. Not one ripple on the water so I let go of the wheel and just held may arms up in the air at fullthrottle, 34mph! That is where I get "Titanic" from, lol. Hell I got carried away and passed up WD and Moe.
I shut her down around the tide line, it was loaded with baitfish and nothing happening. Shot out towards the midbay reefs with pods of mullet holding tight as if maybe the jacks were about to bust threw them, shot over to sand Island and worked the shore line. The drift was perfect to work that whole shore line. This whole time keeping contact with the two tournament goers.
Finally heading back in towards S offats flats to make a few drifts and then the crash basin only to find a gar rolling. WD and Moe were spent by then. Time to call it a day for there tournament but I had a great time on the water.
If you ever really wanted to feel free, eventhough today was a melting pot day, I found it to be awsome to be full throttle and "LOOK MOM NO HANDS!" Kind of day.
Here is a photo of the N side of Soup.
Not a single fish! Hot as Hell! Never felt better in my life.
