  • 6/22 and 6/23 Report

Yesterday morning dawned with a soft breeze and a big push of water...I thought I was going to get them for sure, but it wasn't meant to be. I fished a couple of tried and true holes on the south shore and didn't get even a bump! I don't know what I was doin wrong, but I must have not been holding my mouth right. I think I need to start throwing bait again...that or go into East Bay or the jetties where all the fish are.

Well TTUwader and I went out today and hit up a couple of different spots again in west bay and we got another strikeout, skunk, *** whoopin...whatever you want to call it. Just a heads up for anyone going into west bay this weekend...may want to think otherwise.

Saw Kenny's buddy runnin the traps hard again today...that crab carryin fart doesn't have any stop in him.

Hope you have better luck than I did.

    Regards,
    Fishless

Waders beware on the north shoreline. There was a 5' gator roaming around us, just something to think about when your wading chest deep .

How could I forget. Not only did the fish put it to us, but I had a close encounter of the reptilian(even a word?) kind today. When that SOB started comin towards me I damn near walked on water.

Had the same thing happen to me in Halls Bayou 5 or 6 years back. He was between me and the boat -- was a really uncomfortable waiting game! too bad on the fish -- I'm sure you guys will have better luck next time.
        Shut up and FISH!!

shoot that gator! but realistically maybe we could tell a game warden and they could relocate it, if its is a serious danger to waders

you know... I got to thinkin, this could be a trick by ghsmacker and ttuwader. Just think about everything opposite of what they are saying. That said, there is fish in west bay and they are on the north shoreline. haha

                A 5 footer probably isn't trouble, but if there's a 5 footer then there's probably a 10 footer somewhere nearby!

Fishcatchr...an Aggie does not lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate those who do. It's the Aggie honor code. I would never lie to my coastal brethren. I was just trying to save everybody there time and tell them to look elsewhere, so we don't have to see anymore bad reports like this one.

Kenny...it was my first time to ever see a gator in the wild and when that lizard got within 20 yards of me, coming dead at me, I started to freak a little.

Guys, don't want to be picky on location here, but I wade the north shore with my 9 year old. I can defend myself, the kids is a big worry. Thanks guys.

Had same issue in POC couple weeks back, spooky being in the water at dark-thirty and hearing splashes around you and not seeing anything. Pucker factor for sure. But again, the guys that showed us the picture on his cell phone the night before the tournament may have been trying to keep us out of his spot!

After the hurricane they have had to relocate several back to upper east bay. Just call the game warden and they will take care of it.
