well i was scheduled to meet up with michelle and go out in the boat but the winds didnt allow that to happen again so i was already there and didnt want to go home so i went to one of my favorite short wade spots that is somewhat protected with this wind. with this high tide i decided to turn it into a bank fishing spot so i didnt have to get wet and put everything on haha. had a good current flow with the high water and bait was scattering in places. started just before sun up and on 2nd cast as i was twitching my topwater blindly it starts pulling back! sweet first fish was about a 14" trout. from then on it was great topwater action even in this wind. ended up with over 15 trout in an hour but the only problem was size. i couldnt get any solid keepers, most were border line and 16-17 so i threw everything back today as well. i did have a couple of nice ones come flying out of the water only to miss it. they looked to be in the 20" range. had tons of blow ups on almost every cast. saldy enough this has been the best topwater bite for me all year and it was in 20 mph winds haha oh well ill take.
all in all it was a blast even though they werent all good solid keepers but topwater fish are better than nothing. all fish were caught on a chartruse and silver skitterwalk jr. and 2 caught on glow and chartruse sea shads.
later,
taylor
