I got to flyfish on Saturday and it turned out to be a good hunting trip.Wind was up some but not so bad that your back cast got blown apart.I had 18 to 20 shots all at reds and ended up catching 3 of them. They were very picky about what they were eating.Caught one on a small Seaducer and the next four fish would refuse to eat it.Change size & color get several refusals and the next fish would eat it.Clousars did not work in any size.all of them fell to Seaducers(small ones). The reds were 19-21 in. and very strong.
Sunday was WINDY.The flats that I fished Saturday were blown apart.I found a little clear water in the park and poled it for a while but it had no fish in it. Put the fly tackle up and set up a drift with TWO WIND SOCKS and started throwing a SKITTERWALK.Five minutes into the drift, BAM,one beautiful trout 27-1/4 in.Got a great picture and sent her back to make some other angler happy.Wind got worse,no more bites,so I came back on home.Things are looking up !
