i picked up a pint of shrimp and headed to the surf early this am. i decided it was a bit rougher than i expected and didn't feel like fighting the surf and pulling a ten hour shift later today. i opted to wade the bay side instead. i waded in and bait was everywhere. i threw 3 different super spook juniors, a pink skitterwalk, and a bone super spook drawing strikes with all of them but no committments. they were just slapping at it. the only fish i caught on top was a small trout that i foul hooked. a guy waded in behind me w/ a bait bucket and was hooking up pretty often so i switched to the tiny shrimp i had. i strung two 16 inch trout and threw back an assortment of sheepies, whiting, hardheads and 2 more small trout. he was throwing croaker and had strung 6 to 25 inches. i quit around 9 and headed in. the surf was beautiful when i was driving back. i may give it a try in the morning.
