Set off from fatboys with ZORK to the Pig Pens arriving at sunrise. The wind was not that bad, but soon after arriving, the front pushed through with winds increasing. Tough winds from NNE,NE,ENE, E 10 to 20 MPH hounded us all day. Bait was present, but it was like fishing in a bad surf. Not a strike.

We checked out Sand Island and Campbell's , but they were raked by the NE wind. Fished the SW bank of Pelican Island without results and moved on to North Deer Island to wade. No better luck there.

Settled into a West Bay back marsh off the intracoastal where ZORK managed a flounder and trout under a popping cork with a GULP shad. Water had about 3 " visibility.

          END

Ended up with about 7 flounder and and one trout. I got hung up on the bottom and broke my G.L.Loomis rod !! Bummer. It was an old rod and I had a backup...but still. We hit one more cut briefly and headed back to Fatboy's....ZORK had some power shopping to do yet for Mother's Day. It was a tough weather day , but we managed some fish and had a great time. Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day. Mom's deserve all the thanks we can muster !!

Sorry TXSHOCKWAVE, I did see a warning sign with your name on it stating, " private marsh, too shallow to fish, dangerous shell, peligroso, no fish, polluted with toxins, people have mysteriously vanished back here, stay away "....I took a chance anyway.

IBTSOOM, didn't I mention my rod broke hung up on a bottom 30 " trout ?

REELTIME, I have May 22 penciled in for you , me , and TROUPHYTROUTMAN to fish the tourney.

ZORK, yep, fried chicken and fish...everyone raved about the fish. Get the shopping done ? I'm out of the doghouse and green light to fish again...how about you ?

SCHU, I haven't used it yet. It looks impressive enough that I'm thinking of rigging it up off the bow like a battleship just to show it off.
