Michelle and I attempted a live shrimp/Jetty trip this am, winds too high, so we soaked at Causeway with no takers, just cruised around drifting some different spots all over West Bay (50 miles' worth), with a few rats here and there. Finally Michelle couldn't sit still so she donned waders and hooked a 24" trout right off the bat on a white/chart Brown Lure flapper. Needless to say, I got my lazy *** out and managed 1 keeper Red on a mardi gras paddle tail along with a few good missed fish. Michelle strung 2 more Reds, some rats, a 19" Red and one way nice break-off fish. (Lots of expletives from both of us on those missed ones. Ok, mostly from me.
) All on East Beast and mardi gras paddles. Winds were bizarre, came from all directions 5 -15 knots, water temps 61-65.
