spring break week

extremewaderdude88 and i spent spring break down at san luis pass together. it was pretty slow all week but we manages to scratch a few out each day

3/14/10
fished all day in the calm wind and low water to scratch out 2 keeper flounder and a 25" trout all were caught in the morning. we went out with a buddy and caught 3 dink trout in the afternoon.

3/15/10
wind picked up a little more but the water was still low and managed to scratch out 2 flounder in the morning, 2 dink trout in mid day and 6 flounder about 20 reds and 7 dink trout in the evening between the 2 of us.

3/16/10
wind was calm in the morning and mid day but grinded out 2 flounder in the morning and 5 keeper trout and some dinks in the evening.

3/17/10
calm winds from the n-ne were tough and only caught 2 dink trout in the afternoon.

3/18/10
joined up with Michelle and julie for a boat ride and some fishing that morning untill around 2 45 and only managed 1 flounder at 18.5" and a 21" red and about 10 rat reds. winds were high early morning then they laid down to nothing around mid day. went back out untill dark and only managed 3 trout with 2 being keepers.
ohh almost forgot. Julie had the catch of the day with a stingray!!! congrats on your catch ha ha. thanks for taking us out Michelle!!

3/19/10
very slow morning with only 1 rat red caught and i diddnt even get a bite!!. we went to another spot with ryan ending up with 2 reds that were keepers and about 5 rat reds and i caught my new pb trout that went 27" and 6.5 #.

i decided to sleep in the next day and ryan went home the day before so that was all the fishing i got done thanks to the cold front that came. im tired of them!!!.it was a mistake sleeping in though it wouldve been on!!. we did have some blow ups on tops the last day and they were big.

overall it was a great spring break and im ready to do it again. pics are on the way i just have to get them all together

Well done TroutChaser213. Once my ALL of my kids are big enough to withstand the type of grinding that you do, we will be spending their Spring Breaks the same way. Thank you for the great report!

best way you can spend a spring break in my opinion. i was solo mostly though but had a buddy come from Dallas and one was staying at the park with a boat. its tough grinding but all it takes is that one fish or big bite to keep you going. especially for a kid

yes that is true about 1 bite. it seems like i get in slumps and go a trip without a bite then next time out ill get a bite and then its on!!.

i caught her on a ttf trout killer in plum and white. when she hit it she jumped straight out of the water like a tarpon and my jaw dropped haha. she swallowed the bait all the way down so i had to keep her

Sounds like it was a great week Taylor. It's good to hear the you got to spend it fishing with friends. Those are the only girls that I chase any more.
