nw wind is good or bad

going out friday hopefully for an all day grind. The wind will be out of the NW... as of today. is that good or bad... i heard that a se wind is the best for the beachfront, but whats good (if anything) about a NW?
where should i focus with the wind out of that direction?

Depends on how hard it blows and where you want to fish. I love a NW as long as it is less than 15mph

Northwest wind will push water out of the bay.
Expect very low water levels.
NW isn't nearly as bad as NE.

Go to where you know of some deep holes .... the fish will come off the flats, because there is no water, and head deep ...

Cold pass is a safe bet, but the wind will be in your face .....

I prefer the pass area with that kind of wind. Also with spring right here real god chance of popping several kinds of fish this time of year. Saw more stingrays in the bay this weekend than I have in a while so I would think the migration has started with fish moving from the gulf to the bay. With the incoming tide I would focus on the bay side where the deep water starts to shallow up and on the outgoing tide I would go deeper still. Throw yourself a crab on bottom and stick it in a holder and see if big ugly happens by...

nw wind blows the water out..its saying 20 to 25 friday..find anywhere with deep holes..or find the flats that is adjacent to deeper water!! plus find bait

i dont know what it is about it; but when i hear the ever increasingly popular fishing term "grind" i think of this:.......almost as much as corkys.

9 times out of 10 when it's coming out of the NW, its coming 15+ and that will blow all the water out. so NO its not real good

learn to love all winds if you want to catch fish consistently. There is always somewhere to hide and fish, that's one of the greatest things about West Bay. You can look at Jones, Greens, much of the north shoreline,several reefs, and several coves that will all work in NW. If it really gets up to 25, you might want to consider another day, but the fish will still be there. The heavy winds that accompany a frontal passage this time of the year can be dangerous, so be careful.

Tricky question but a simple answer. If you catch fish in a NW wind, the NW wind is a good thing. I you don't catch fish in a NW wind, it could also be a good thing if you bring enough beer. Don't be suckered into thinking that because it is good fishing in a NW wind one day it will be good the next. Be prepaired.......bring pleanty of beer.

X2 with RonE. Bring plenty of beer, find a protected shoreline, be safe and ready if wind picks up more-so watch crossintg open water because it may get much worse as day goes on and cooler gets more empty!!

North shorelines that are protected from waves/wind or the West Wall in west bay, Cold Pass, bird island/mud island, swan lake, campbells, Jones lake, Dickinson Bay.

Not a big fan of NW wind, but have caught a slam in it! I agree with Soule!

By the way, the water will be dirty.
