Got on the water at 645 this morning and headed strait for the reefs. No bites for most of the morning till about 1300 or so. Caught a few small ones and a couple keepers. Went to a couple southshore lines to look for some bait couldnt find any and made a blind wade in an area that looked good for about an hour and not a bite. Using assasins while drifting and corky while wading. off the water at 1815. Better luck next time i guess. Ill let the weekend worriers have it this weekend. im heading up to the lake to do a little crappy and bass fishing. Heading back in the salt Monday or Tuesday hopefully.
    thanks

Yesterday was a grind, but you were in a good area early. We ended up finding some good fish shortly after lunch. a few nice trout and flounder. Overall a tough day

ya we started catching fish right after lunch time with a bunch of small ones in there too. But we decided to go out a little more out in the bay thinking they would be there too, and to get away from all the boats. We should have gone back to where we caught all the fish but after our wade we were freezing due to both our waders having leaks in them. We were able to suck it up on wednesday with the leaks but yesterday we couldnt.

We didn't catch much in the canal -- or anywhere else for that matter. The canal is holding plenty of bait but I think it needs to heat up a bit before it turns back on. There's a lot of trout in the lights behind my house but they're really skittish and mostly dinks..

Winds screaming right now anyway -- I might wait a bit to do it again myself...

Oh i would be out fishing if i wasnt going to the lake. Two trips this week and not many fish to show for it just makes me sick. Now im determined to put the donk on them. but i will have to stay with the sick feeling for three days now. No good. but hey you win some and you lose some. all in all you cant beat a day on the water.

We only got two drifts in where the better fish were, but they produced some much nicer fish. We had 4 over 3 pounds and the Pimp had one about 5 pounds. They were concentrated in a very small area, in a streak that ran diagonally across a gut. Had another friend that went to the same area yesterday and did very well, I think 9 over 3 pounds, one over 5 and another that got off at the boat that was reported very large.
