West 3/4/10

Went out with Maurice Estlinbaum today. On the water at 6:45am and off at 1:30pm. We ran all over west looking for bait and made several long wades. Saw a whopping total of 3 mullet (that's 1 more than 2 Michelle) until we got to our last spot. Waded our last spot for about an hour and saw probably 20 mullet. Had 1 bite all day, which was a solid trout that pulled the hooks.
Man.......when is spring gonna be here!!

that's 30 percent more mullet than i saw chip so i really think you should pm me your gps numbers. did you swing by the north shoreline to see if my two mullet were still there? i'll give it a go tomorrow.

Ran the N Shoreline all the way from Chocolate to Meacom's and didn't see 1 mullet. Ran the S shoreline and into 5 coves and didn't see 1 mullet!
Ran all the the shell/mud mid bay and saw 3!

Thanks for the report Chip.. you're not giving me much hope for tomorrow. If you're not catchin fish I'm definitely in trouble!

The water temps should be up some tomorrow at least. It is not going to get as cold tonight as last night. If you can find where the bait is, the fish should be there. I think all the bait is stacked up in one place somewhere hiding and the fish are there with them!

Sorry the trip wasn't productive. I stayed home today sick with a bad cold so not catching was better than that!
I guess the dang cold ENE wind all day didn't help either.
The prime time graphs for this week look pretty bad....looks like what bite there may be is very early.
