  • Upper West Quick Afternoon Run 12/21

My dad and I launched from the diversion in Hitchcock around 1:30. Started off drifting about a 1/4 mile northeast of greens. Over about an hour we only caught two undersized fish. Moved South to the confederates area and nailed a keeper first cast. Threw the fish in the livewell and couple casts later, snagged another fish, this one too small. Thought we finally found em. But it got really slow after that and we only had 2 more fish over the next hour and a half. Left with about an hour of daylight left and ran to the little slough off the inside of the diversion. Went back a little ways but the tide was so low back where I wanted to fish we decided to just head in. And believe it or not, we were getting bit by mosquitos! So the final tally was 5 dinks and one legal trout, everything was released. All were caught on margarita sand eel jr. drifting over shell in 4-5 foot of water. Lots of boats out there doing the exact same thing we were. Didn't see anyone else killing them either. But it wasn't too bad for a few hours on the water. Hope to get back out there soon after all the Christmas festivities. Merry Christmas

    GOD BLESS AND GIG'EM!

I hope I catch a 10 lb trout before I catch a flesh eating bacteria.

No, if you are a guide, a bad day of fishing is the worst!! But, if you have the right attitude, very few days are really bad. Some are just better catching days than the others. If you change your game plan to learn something new everyday on the water, all days will be good.

"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
