My son and I loaded up the boat this morning with a quest of finding some Redfish. We got on the water around 10:00 and headed straight to the North shoreline of West Bay, our first wade yielded nothing. So we headed to the marsh, (thanks Chip) we were throwing tops and spoons and I switched to a black/char devil eye, first cast---wham--- hook up 24 inch Red, when it was all said and done we caught 22 Reds, Trey caught 12 and I caught 10. We kept two limits and released at least 6 fish 25 inches or better. Trey caught one that went 32 inches and bottomed out the Boga (pictured)
Definitely the best day I have ever had on West Bay catching Reds.
Over the past few years, I have only had success in POC chasing Reds but can't find Trout, on the other hand West Bay, I can find Trout but no Reds, today changed all that thanks to Chip's advice.
