Met up with Nathan this morning to get one last trip in before we go back to school. We launched around 6:30 and quikly made our way to a shoreline where I caught some fish yesterday. The water up close to the shore was very clear but once you waded out deeper the water got that green tint to it and was holding bait. At our first stop we each strung 2 trout. I got mine on topwaters and Nathan caught his on corkys. Most of the trout we were catching here were small so we went further west and jumped out the boat. There wasn't much bait but we found a few pelicans sitting on the water. Well we shortly found out there was a large school of trout under them, but again they were mostly schoolie trout with an occasional keeper mixed in. The action was pretty fast, I think Nathan Had 7 fish in a row. We probably caught around 15-20 fish here with 5 being keepers. We had to head in early so we made one last stop at a cove and picked up 2 more trout. Finally tally was 11 trout 15-21".
I fished west three times this week and couldn't find any bigger trout. The fishing has been very slow in the coves, or atleast for me. I can't complain though, had great weather this past week and caught some fish. Cant wait to get finals over with and get back out there.
