  • West Bay today

fished west today with Mike in Friendswood. Known him for years but this was our first day to ever be in a boat togerther. we had a great time and caught a bunch of fish. still getting a fair number of dinks, but probably landed 6 or 7 that were at least 20 inches. spent most of the day wading and on the second spot ended up walking into a bunch of reds I think that we caught around 15 between us, most right at 19 to 21 with maybe two that would make the 23-24 mark. ended the day back at the reef that we started on and had a coupel of really big fish blow up. no we didn't hook them, but it was a sight to see them.. good day, great conditions and one of those guys that I have a ton of respect for on the upper coast!!
    Thanks Mike!!!!

No long rods inthe boat, we did discuss them quite a bit. the spot where most of the good trout came from is one that I had put cusotmers on trout up to 7 pounds on fly in the past, just not this day...consult with me before your trip to Rockport, might be able to donate a few areas worth checking..

not kidding. I know a few good spots down there that produce good reds, and maybe a handful of trophy trout spots. Make sure that you introduce yourself the next time you see me, I'm much better with faces than names. Age I guess>>>

                              Steve:

Thanks for the report. I sure enjoyed meeting you with Capt. Greg when you, me, my brother Brian and Greg went out in October. Glad you joined here! I look forward to your continued reports.

                              Thanks,
