Higher than high tides had fish scattered over the weekend but still some nice fish out there to be caught.
Saturday I think we brought 10 Trout back to the dock and had action for most of the day. Alot of schoolie Trout caught. Drift fishing with live shrimp under a popping cork was what we threw at them Saturday. All fish caught over shell in 3 to 4' of water.
Sunday was a little tougher with higher tides and a steady 15 to 20 knot easterly wind. Drifting areas around North Deer Island over shell produced another limit of Trout to 20". Live shrimp under a popping cork was our method once again.
Water was still in good shape up til 2pm yesterday with tides running about 2 to 2 1/2' above normal.
There some good solid Trout showing up on the upper end of West Bay. Once these tide levels drop things should get going very quick. Some of my areas that I normaly wade were way to deep the last 2 days. While drifting with popping corks we were putting the shrimp down about 3 to 4' under the cork. Have not had to rig a shrimp that far down in some time LOL.

Nice report for us amateurs! We had similar luck in Cold Pass, Bastrop and Chocolate on Saturday. Lot of Shrimp under corks for trout in 15 to 18 range with two undersize reds caught on plum and chartruese tail over shell and mud.
If we don't leave any, there won't be any.

I still can not get use to reading reports from AP saying he is using popping cork and shrimp. I guess it is better then wading in that high tide like Donna and I did on Saturday. We had to get out of one cove because I thought I was going to lose Donna under water!
