Well I finally got the boat running, and was able to get to my favorite cove on the South shoreline. The last few months I have spent more time in FTU than on the water, so I had some new lures to try out. I ended up catching 10 fish (8 specks, 1 sandie and 1 rat red). I was very surprised with the results of the new lures. The "one knocker" Spook got the red, but was surprisingly difficult to get a consistent walk the dog retrieve. The YUM Money Minnow looked beautiful in the water, but did not produce anything on this day. The surprise of the day was the one lure that I really did not want to produce, produced, the Strike Pro Baby Buster in Pink managed to produce 4 Specks, including the biggest 2. This lure is very easy to work and flies a mile. I will have to bite the bullet and spend another $14 on a backup or two. The rest of the fish came on my old faithful red shad bass assassin and one sandie on a Pink Corky. I am sorry for rambling on, especially without pictures, but I thought maybe some others might have been curious about these relatively new lures. The 2 big fish of the day were 20 and 18 inches, and the rest were much smaller. No big fish today, but is was great to be out on the boat and get some bites.
