I had a few guy's from work join me for a morning half day trip yesterday 10-18-09.We started around 8 am and finished off around 11:30 with 30 bull reds caught and released. Most of the fish came on squid, cut mullet and live pinfish. The biggest fish was around 35 lbs and ate a big pinfish on bottom. The area we fished was about a 1/2 mile out of the surfside jetties in 35 feet of water, concentrating on bait and rip currents.Look for diving pelicans and be sure to chum to hold the fish.Pictures to follow.

Thanks for the report dude! I am going to try to get in on some bullred action soon. I was wondering about chumming since they are bottom scent feeders. Hopefully the winds will lay enough to take out the kayak and go after them.
Question about that area: Is the gulf side of the Quintana jetty protected from SE wind and waves?

No the SE winds will blow directly into the quintana jetty....The sea's were rough yesterday and we still were able to catch'em.chumming will hold all the other little fishes and the bulls won't be far behind.Use an egg sinker with a swivel and a circle hook.Let the fish set the hook... just reel toward the fish when he hits and you'll catch em in the corner of the mouth and it'a an easy release and you won't harm or kill any brood fish,

Great day there Sneeky. Way to go."Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
