Put the boat in the water at 7 this morning to do a little wading. With the south winds blowing 15+ knots I decided to stick to the south shoreline. Tide was up so I went pretty far back into a south shoreline cove. There was a little bait but didn't look like anything was really feeding on it. Threw topwaters for about 45 minutes without a blow up so I went further west to another cove. The wind really picked up when I got there which might have triggered the bite. The only problem though was all the fish were schoolie trout with the occasional small keeper. I think I had around 4 barely keeper fish that I turned loose. I caught them all on bass assassins, threw a corky for awhile for a bigger fish but couldn't get any takers. I can't wait for some colder weather, I walked all around this cove and found some good depressions and guts that I think will hold some fish once the mercury drops a bit.
