Finally got a chance to fish today and found a few. Started around 7 drifting mid bay throwing a Vudu Natural Shrimp ( first time using these and I am sold). First drift, I picked up a couple 18"-19" Specs while my fishing buddy caught 2 shells... Only thing he caught all day.

Moved down to Green's cut area and found a couple of birds working and ran into a school of Reds


As I got this one to the boat, I looked down and saw 4 or 5 others trying to take the bait away for him.., yelled at Pat to drown a line but he was tying on a new leader and missed the opportunity. Kept working this area but other than 1 nice run and pull off, only caught Lady Fish.., they are everywhere right now.

Moved again over to the causeway and stayed with the Vudu Shrimp and caught 6 Specs up to 21" and a bunch of Poor Man Tarpon. Headed back to Bayou Vista around noon, cleaned the boat and beat the traffic back home.




All fish C&R'd and Pat was on the computer trying to order some Vudu Shrimp.. he didn't like being skunked!

Great day on the water with an old friend, good green water, not to hot and the old Baystealth ran like a champ. Makes me want to go again!

Bruce, they worked for me today.., and tough, used the same one all morning long. Normally, I don't use a popping cork set-up but couldn't put it down.

I've got a buddy on here that thinks popping corks are for wusses , but I don't mind using them once in a while. I've seen the catch too many fish not to use one. Looks like those shrimp would be easy to jig as well.
