We caught a few small trout and 1 keeper red on Thrusday, but the west winds killed us.

I went fishing this morning and managed to get down a few beers but didn't catch any fish. Slight breeze, very clear water.........end of report......

                Michelle,
When the fishing gets like it is now, I always call it a transitional period. As trout move from a summer pattern to a fall pattern. The high autumnal tides seem to scatter the fish. As we come off the new moon and return to regular tides, in concert with some good fronts from the North, topwater action in the coves and fishing the birds should be the order of the day.

just remember everything I make up is true......

BAD DAY FOR KEEPERS! We hit the water hard, starting at 6:30 and the NW wind messed things up. Hit 3 or 4 more coves, covered all kinds of water and managed several dings, 2 rat reds, 2 small flounder and Donna was within 5 ft of a 6ft. bull shark that made her run on water. No kidding, I wish I had a camera when it happened and now she is a not a big fan of wading. She will come back around, but that would have spooked me as well.

Same here-trout fishing was better off the deck in my light than in the bay-was perfect in bay, but crummy fishing.

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. The weather was awesome, but the fishing could have been a lot better. Out of 59 people fishing our trouney only 18 had fish to weigh in, so it was a really tough day on the water.
