  • Dayum good thing the tides were 4 - 6 hours off ... !

I don't think I've ever gotten up so early in all my life to fish. We hit it up expecting a peaked, begining to fall tide just after 4:13am (and waded until about 9:30am). It was RIPPING IN all morning.

Had a couple buddies in town that came in on 5+ hour drives and heading to the bay house, I told'em not to get their hopes up. As soon as I woke up the next morning, I knew we'd get on'em.

Thank God for incorrect wind and tidal predictions ... ! We slabbed out hard to 26" ... ! Which was good, because the next day we caught 4 fish ...

What does slabbed out mean? Urban dictionary didn't have it.

Come on man ... ! You're from Potlicking, TX ... you ought to know ...

Slabs = trout averaging over 3 lbs (i.e. the fillets look like slabs), 'ed = we caught trout averaging over 3lbs., out = limited.

Nice catch bro. Very solid trout. I feel for you if you had to walk them back to the truck.

I think you would only know what slabbing up is if you have done it before...so yes I didn't know what it meant either lol
