  • 2/19-25/12 fishing in the wind

This weeks conditions were less than favorable most of the week due to wind and poor water quality. However, there were still fish to catch! The first trip of the week I targeted trout, I should have limited out easily but they were being a little more picky than I thought they would be. It took me a major chunk of the day to figure them out. That meant I had little time to use the info to tear em up. Still a good day, my best estimate was atleast 20-25 fish hooked that day, majority spat the hook after a short tussle.

The next trip me and Jhua went. We hadnt hit the water together in awhile so it was fun to catch up. The winds where in excess of 20 mph that day so we spent our time sight casting to reds in protected water. After we ran that marsh we went after some flatties on a mud shoreline. Fun stuff. Quality over Quantity that day. J stuck to his standby of Hackberrys and Spoons on the flats and couldn't buy a bite maybe I convinced him to join the dark side and toss a Gulp everynow and then! Good fishing with you J we need to go more often!

The next trip was under the worst conditions by far. No tide and no sun was what set this day apart from all the rest. I found some fish. It was a grind for sure!
For more information on baits I used, where I fished, how I fished, and what worked and didnt work check out http://camfishes.com I had video footage to show you guys so you could really get a good view of what kind of areas I was fishing at but the wind drowns out my voice so it wouldn't do ya much good. I will have footage for yal next week until then tight lines!!!

Don't rush your learning curve. Fishing is about patience as much as anything else. If you don't have patience we will acquire it if you keep fishing. Myself as much as anyone else who fishes has days of meager findings on the water. It's those days and you will have them that everythings easy. Those are the days that keep you going back.

Well said! There is always room to learn no matter how much you know! Just go enjoy the water and the catching will come in time if you stick with it.

Been tricking a few good flounder to bite on the south shoreline the last few trips. what's the water like in the DC, Cat. Still tea colored or getting green again? Got these 2 a day slow tides going on for a few, need to get the skiff out. May go to Chocolate this week and find something.
