  • Slammed in West Bay

Well I went to a marsh drain today and fished for a few hours. I was fishing around scattered shell and mud. I was throwing 1/8 oz. jig head with a TTF flats minnow in avocado/chart. The tide was running out hard so I was having to move it very very slowly. I got my hits when the lures got hung up on shell and then lifted it over it. I caught trout to 22" and flounder to 14" and a few rat reds. I was trying to focus on larger fish today throwing the XL flats minnows but I had to switch to the original to get hooked up. The flounder and reds would just nip it and it was getting frustrating not hooking into anything. When the sun showed up thats when I started getting hit more often but the big girls bit under cloud coverage today.

I cpr'd the flounder and kept the trout. The freezer is running a little low on trout.

Excellent job! I need to go yakking with you!
Seems to me that I have better luck with smaller lures in the winter.
Love the roseate photo. When I was young, you mainly saw them at the zoo!

I should have been out this morning
the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.
