Try fishing around barnacle layered pilings close to deep channels. Offatts Bayou area has been holding some nice jailbirds.

Go ask Robalo if you can take some out of his freezer. And then kindly ask him if he wouldnt mind sharing his microwave sheephead recipe with you.

              I can answer that JT-NO.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

You willing to wade, or shorebird only? Conf. reef off the end of Sportsman's is a good producer.

In a few months, they will be all over the beachfront. Any rocks or structure should hold them thick. Green water is important, small surf makes it more comfortable for you.

wading is cool. Ive waded areas of sportsmans road but felt uncomfortable with the soft mud and cuts. Is 8 mile any different? I think I know what area you are talking about...it dead ends at a gravel area right? how deep does that area get and where is conf reef in relation to walking in straight ahead?

I haven't fished the end of 8mi much.

The area I'm talking about is the cul-de-sac at the end of SR. Wade out directly W. You will pass the mouth of a large, bayou (oxen bayou?), then there will be another point with an island off of it. The N. tip of the island has a shell reef exposed, and we like to fish about waist deep there. Lots of sheepies, drum, and reds. Dead shrimp on a 3-way rig is what we use there. Better with an incoming tide, and not gin-clear water.
