  • New to the area, looking for ideas

I just got a boat a couple months ago and keep her down in surfside. I have never fished the area and am doing my best to learn but haven't lit it up with trout like you guys are, making me jealous. I have been working inlets along the intercoastal leading up to wesy bay with so-so success, flounder, drum, sheephead, and occasional red. Tried wading the oysterlake shoreline and shore near san luis pass without any luck. Just wanted to see if anyone would mind tossing out any suggested areas? Thanks and looking forward to getting some pics posted.

I can't figure out if you're launching around Freeport or trailering to a spot. If you're trailering try coming up through Oyster Creek community and up 2004 to Bastrop Bayou bridge. Used to be a launch under the bridge there. Run out the bayou and fish the bayou close to the Intracoastal. If no results go into the bay and drift those reefs to the right of the channel in the bay. Used to whack em on incoming tide but be careful with your navagation. Haven't fish there in a few years, I run over to many fish in West bay trying to get to that water.
