  • Kayaking chocolate bayou for the first time - tips?

Hey fellas! Taking the yaks out with a bud tomorrow - chocolate bayou for the first time. Never fished there in my life so not really sure what to expect.

Anything I need to know about prior to going? Also any tips or advice about the area would be gladly accepted Not expecting spots, just general area/things to look for.

Also, is this thing completely protected by all winds? Looks pretty protected and promising since we have heavy winds tonight and tomorrow. Tidal advice - better on an incoming or outgoing?

Thanks in advance (PM me). Report to come tomorrow.
I set my hook like I am fishing for tuna even if I am fishing for trout. Call me tuna Joe!

I know of some night fishing spots, but just go outside the grassline and look for action. Pay attention.

Jhua - awesome. Me and bo are going early morning 5 am ish...he has work @ 4 pm... I am still down for seabrook wade ~ 4pm I really want to try out new spot will text.

Buoy37 - Actually we have no idea really where to launch out of as we haven't been there. I heard something about the boat ramp off 2004 but not too sure - any grassy landing close by to where we park we were gonna launch out of....any advice on that? Thanks (PM me if ya need ).

And thanks Corndog - that helped a lot!!!
