Got down here Saturday with the kids and so when Sunday morning rolled around we were all up early due to setting the clocks forward. Told the kids to get up and lets go get in the boat to see if I could find some reds for them. Getting my three monkeys to do anything quickly is like herding cats so two hours later we were ready. Being my boat is a small flats boat four people makes quite a crowd on her so I left Sea Isle marina with some dead shrimp and headed to the deeper water of the canals. Didn't take too long and I had my daughter hooked up. Moved here and there but was able to have each kid fight a rat red and my daughter Heather caught two. My youngest is Jackson and he has never hooked up with a red and for the last two years that's all he has wanted so when his rod bent and he started reeling all he would say is "is it a redfish? is it a redfish?" Sure enough he was pumped. As we headed in Matt said this one of the greatest days ever (hard to beat that) and next time we would catch nothing but keepers, take 'em home, and eat 'em. Not a bad plan if you ask me.

Siting here in our bayhouse in Sea Isle. I think we saw yal yesterday. Im glad you managed some fish, looks like the little ones had fun! We managed one keeper flounder yesterday in the canal and none today. If you want some fish forthe kids just toss a popping cork in the canal or off the pier. Weve caught some little croaker which is always fun.
