    Flounder fishing in the Galveston Bay complex continues to be outstanding. The tide was high this morning with little water movement, but the flounder were still biting steady throughout the morning. There were rafts of finger mullet along the shorelines.

    Today, I primarily fished along pier structures in 3 feet to 7 feet of water, but also caught a few flounder along riprap shoreline. The most productive areas all had scattered shell on the mud bottom.

    I ended up catching 36 keeper-sized flounder, and all fish were released. Most of the fish were 15” to 18”, but I did get catch a few bigger ones as well. The bite really turned on from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM at which time I caught the bigger fish. Lures of choice were the Gulp mantis shrimp in white/chartreuse, Gulp pogy in white, and 7” Gulp Jerk Shad in chartreuse.
