Had a lot of meetings this morning and got to work early at around 6. The meetings ended at 10 and I had the rest of the day off. I decided to fish my favorite drain. Got there and it looks like the bait is back! There were mullet flipping everywhere! Decided to forgo the topwater (for now) and throw the morning glory hackberry. My first cast, the hackberry hit the water and *BLWOOOSH* a fish hits it right when the hackberry hit the water. The drag starts peeling and I set the hook. Turned out to be a little over 20 red. Did a few blind casts but I kept looking over at a fallen log in the water. Every so often I would see nervous bait and swirls. Tired of seeing it, I tied on my ss jr in chartreuse/ white and tossed it past the log. Right when the spook got closer to the log, I saw a big swirl....*BLWOOSH* down goes the spook and FISH ON! The drag screams again and I see the neon blue tail of another red. I blink and my line goes limp and my spook floats back up to the surface. Bummer.
After that, I spend a good half an hour blind casting, hoping for another shot at some topwater fish. But no takers. I switched back to the hackberry and made a few blind casts. I was reeling in when *tick* A flounder has got a hold of my hackberry. I set my rod tip down and let out some line. I then pull out my phone and send two texts to some friends and then put the phone away. I reeled up the slack...and gave the meanest hook set I could. FISH ON! The flounder darts off towards the fallen log but it never made it. The flounder pulled some drag but I managed to get it to the bank. It was a nice 21-22 inch flounder! Took some pictures and debated whether to go home and eat it. I decided that I would rather leave it be and hope it grows a few more inches for the next time. I managed a potato chip after that and it got really hot out there. I was still in my work clothes so I called it a day. Looks like the rest of the week is shaping up to be a good one. Tight lines to everyone!

I should mention that because of the heavy rains, it seems as if a torrent of water pushed some huge rocks and moved em around.
