Today I decided to target some slot drum and sheepshead.
Arrived to my launch spot around 7:00 AM but had to patiently wait for the fog to burn off. The tide was already ripping out when I got on the water and quickly slacked up around 9:00 AM. Bite was slow until the tide turned and started coming back in. Ended up with a limit of sheepshead and limit of slot black drum. Two of the sheepshead were brutes, both between 7 and 8 pounds. Also caught and released an oversized black drum.
Water Depth: 7 to 15 feet
Water Clarity: 2 feet
Structure: Dock pilings and along riprap
Tide: Outgoing AM / Incoming PM
Bait: Live shrimp on carolina rig
Just a note: If I was not occasionally getting snagged on the bottom, I was not catching fish.
